What You Need To Know About Vaping
The act of vaping is the inhaling of vapor from an e-cigarette and other vaping devices, typically battery-powered and has a capsule full of a flavored liquid containing nicotine. When stimulated, the vape turns the liquid, or e-liquid, into a vapor that's then inhaled.
Types of devices
When you start shopping for your vaping device, you'll run into three sets of e-cigarettes: disposables e-cigs, pen mods, and box mods.
1. Disposable e-cigs
Disposable e-cigarettes are the lowest priced, most straightforward, and most widely accessible vaping devices. These are approximately the same size as cigarettes and are generally the first types of vapes smokers decide to try. They're either all-in-one units removed when dead, or units that have replaceable cartridge tips containing e-juice, the wick, and a heating element. While they're cheap and convenient, they're also pretty weak on vapor, and the batteries don't last very long.
2. Pen mods
Pen mods comprise the same essential components as disposables but are generally larger and feature swappable components, like tanks, coils, and tips. Pen mods are powerful than disposables and produce more vapor and flavor. Additionally, they are rechargeable and usually have a USB cord rather than insertable batteries.
3. Box mods
Like pen mods, box mods allow you to customize your device by changing the tank, coil, and other hardware. They're bigger than disposables and pen-style devices. However, they contain a large battery (or multiple batteries) and additional wiring and circuitry to create a stronger hit. Along with stronger hits, they also typically come with a selection of more advanced features than the primary devices, so as displays and the capability to change your temperature and wattage. Box mods are much more expensive and require regular maintenance.
